At the moment it seems that you can’t escape stories about the latest social networking phenomenon, Twitter.  With all the hype and celebrity endorsements, lots of people are asking “how do I use Twitter?”.

There are plenty of sites out there that will tell you how to use Twitter, but not so many to warn you of the pitfalls. If you take a minute to learn from this list of useful Twitter tips then you’ll be Twittering away with the best of them.

DO hold your tongue.Unless your updates are protected, anyone can see what you are Twittering about. Bear in mind the story of the girl who managed to Tweet her way out of a new job because a hiring manager read her thoughts on the position she interviewed for.

DON’T use it as another chat client.  No one wants to their screen full of irrelevant Tweets from a conversation they’re forced to eavesdrop on.

DO make sure that you retweet other people. This can be a good way to build up a following of like minded users.

DON’T constantly self promote.  Okay, we get it - you have a blog. Twitter isn’t a one way street - interact!

DO follow people back, but….

DON’T be offended if people don’t follow you back. Users with hundreds of followers are unlikely to see your Tweet through the hundreds of other tweets anyway.

DO be funny, informative and creative.

DON’T use the auto-DM feature. This is the Twittering equivalent of spam and a faceless “hi – thanks for following” is impersonal and can be off-putting.

DO use it to ask other people for help. When you have built up a reasonable following you’ll find it easy to find answers to your questions quickly.

DON’T twit if your message is going to exceed 140 characters. Spreading messages over the course of several tweets is just going to confuse and irritate your followers.

These handy hints should be enough to get you started.  If you are likely to spend a significant proportion of your online time on Twitter then there are plenty of guides on the net telling you how to use Twitter effectively.

One of the most powerful tools in an Internet marketer’s arsenal is email - and it’s easy to see how effective is. Having a big list of targeted prospects is a wonderful thing to have. Yet, many people stumble when trying to put together their lists because they don’t know the right way to get started. Just how does someone go about getting people to subscribe?

The first point to remember is that visitors are becoming more and more conditioned to marketers asking them to fill in their name and email address. Therefore, it’s simply not sufficient to merely put up your opt-in form and hope for the best. You really do need to “sell” the opt-in, and one of the best ways to do it is with an ethical “bribe” or giveaway. Create a free downloadable report around your and offer it for free to anyone that submits their email address and name. This is a great way to convince them to take some time and fill out your opt-in form.

Your bribe doesn’t need to be a report. It can be a video, an audio interview with someone respected in your industry, or maybe even exclusive access to some protected part of your website. Whatever it is, the key is to ensure that your giveaway brings excellent value to the subscriber. This does two things:

  1. The user will start to form trust with you, which means that promotions and recommendations are more likely to be accepted.
  2. If the content is well made, there’s a big chance that the user will help you spread the word by informing their friends about it.

Essentially, this giveaway is really a first impression of sorts, and as we all know, first impressions are very important. So, make sure that your giveaway is quality and offers true value to your subscribers.

The second point may seem obvious, but you would be surprised how many people don’t do this. Make sure that your opt-in box is in a highly visible location above the fold. Above the fold is the portion of the screen that is visible before you have to scroll downwards. Studies show that people are more likely to pay attention to your opt-in box if they do not have to scroll down to see it. To make your opt-in box more visible, try a shade that stands out from the rest of your website. You can even try to add arrows or other graphics to draw attention to the opt-in box. Of course, be sure to show the visitor your value-packed giveaway for signing up.

Finally, in your subscription box, always remember to point to or summarize your privacy policy. SPAM (or junk email) is a huge issue, and many people are turned off from email marketing in fear of having their email addresses distributed or sold.In order to get visitors to opt-in, you need to be able to convince them that you are worthy of trust and that you won’t distribute their email without express permission. By doing so, your opt-in rate will noticeably increase, so take the time to ease the minds of your visitors.

As long as email exists, email marketing is not going away. By putting these techniques to use, you can also start making a targeted list of subscribers that are receptive to your own promotions.

Email marketing works like gangbusters if you can create a list targeted around a particular niche. Master niche marketer Mark Dulisse has launched a new course called IM Niche Formula. A struggling single father of three young kids, Mark managed to rake in a massive income online with niche marketing and web 2.0 tactics. The definition of viral marketing depends on who you ask.  Some may say that it is an unethical strategy very close to spam.Truthfully, there is really nothing unethical about it. Companies that take advantage of it are focusing on word of mouth advertising to promote their business, and word of mouth really works.

Remember Mary Kay.  They are overpriced cosmetics that are not any better than anything else on the market. But the company has continued to be highly successful for one reason.Women buy them and then suggest that their friends buy them as well.

In order to be a high level Mary Kay representative, you would truly believe that the Mary Kay product is better.  You would then tell all of your friends that the product is better.  Next, you would ask your friends to sell the cosmetics. Then, they would tell their friends, and so on.

That’s the real definition of viral marketing.  It is word of mouth advertising.  You tell your friends.  They tell their friends and the process continues exponentially until you, the business owner, have generated more sales than you might have ever dreamed possible.

It is commonly referred to as a virus, due to the fact that it spreads and multiplies, easily and swiftly throughout the population.  Any advertising strategy that encourages individuals to pass along your message to others is a .

There are classic examples of this strategy. “Hotmail” is the one. They usually offer a free service and every time that an person takes advantage of that service, by sending an e-mail, they also broadcast an advertisement to the recipient, asking them to sign up for their free e-mail service.

People love free items.  That’s a big part of the definition of viral marketing. You would offer something free, to generate sales at a later time. You must be patient.  It may take months to see the sales figures climb, but eventually they will.

The free tokens keep your company’s name and brand top of mind of the consumer. It is similar to the free pens that banks, insurance companies, air conditioning companies and the like offered, before the internet became popular. Each day, every customer saw that company’s name and anyone that came by their house saw it as well.

Now, you can reach thousands and thousands of customers with a single regular e-mail. What’s real definition of viral marketing? It is putting your name out there, where all can view it.

So you’ve read somewhere that it’s easy to make money online, and you’ve heard from others that they’re doing the same. You then decide that you have to do it yourself, and after sometime you now find yourself totally disappointed. You look at your expenses you’ve incurred in your failed attempt and figure that all this talk is a scam. Well think again, perhaps the problem is not with the internet, rather it’s with you. Take a look at what you’ve been doing and see if you have made some or many of the common mistakes that’s preventing you from making money online. These mistakes could be any of the following most common reasons.

You Made The Wrong Choice In The Product

Either you picked a product that’s not selling, or you picked a product you know nothing about.  Both are a guaranteed way to fail to make money online.  Do your market research, and make sure that you pick a product that is easy to sell online, and make sure that there are people who want to buy it.  As well, make sure that you know about it.  Even if bicycle horns are selling like crazy, if you don’t know anything about them, it will show and people will choose to buy their bicycle horns from a more knowledgeable seller.

You Didn’t Even Tryout The Product

Not knowing how a certain product works will make it harder to sell. How will you answer common pre-sell questions on the product if your knowledge on it is limited? Your potential customers will simply not trust you and for the current customers, you’ll loose your chance for a repeat business with them, nor will they refer you to anyone. You may even get bad reviews for what your selling and end up being ignored totally. Bad reviews mean bad sales.

You went straight to step 10

You may think that you know all you need to know about , and that you can go straight to overseeing multiple products on a variety of sites.  Now you’ve got a multitude of eggs in too many baskets, and none of them are making any money. Stop.  Sit back, and make a plan.  Start out with one or two products.  Make a cohesive business strategy that you can follow step-by-step.  If you these products start making money, you can use your business plan as a blueprint to add more products and sites to make even more money online.

You Still Think That You’ll Be A Millionaire In A Single Day

Making online is every bit possible, and making huge amounts is even just as possible. Setting your mind to the amount of money you’ll be making before you even start a plan is a recipe for failure. As in the previous point, you need a viable business plan or strategy in place. Execute your plan and work on each step of the plan until your momentum builds up, then improve on the process to make the tasks for efficient. Just because someone says it’s easy to make money online it doesn’t mean you don’t have to put any efforts. You do!

You Just Gave Up To Soon

This does seem to counter the previous point, but in fact this is just as valid. You simply cannot expect that you’ll make money just like that, so if your progress is not going as fast as you thought it would be you just can’t give up. Sometimes, a slow but steady pace wins the game. If you have built a solid business plan, stay consistent in it’s execution, and put some effort to it, you will find that you will be making money online.

These mistakes are so common at over 90% of people trying to make money online fail because of them. They had the will and the guts to try and no matter what they did, they just couldn’t find the holy grail. Does that sound familiar? Well what’s missing is the right direction, tools, planning, and methodology. Even in the real world, making money is a combination of having the right tools, the correct processes in place, and taking the right decisions.

So if your down on your luck and need to find the right path to making money online checkout what Portal Feeder has to offer. It’s a proven system with the right tools, training, people and resources that you’ll need to succeed online.

If you are a business owner and are looking for ways to then you have a vast selection of choices on the internet. But it depends on your budget and your spare time the choice seems endless.

In reality there are very few companies that provide a service that this author would use himself. This is not an article promoting them but a more easier approach on how to select the best service for you.

There are a couple things to look for.

The main things to look for when choosing an article publishing service is initially the number of websites they distribute to. Secondly it would also be the quality of sites that they are distributed to.

This can be found in the support links or perhaps in the about us section, or if the service is a scam they will advertise things like 500000 sites. In truth most of the best distribute to 5000 –! 10000 the real truth is most of these sites don’t take your article. Many are specific or niche website which will only take article related to this topic.

How to get More Sites to Take Your Article
